Very negative experience, Lbis bought the company we'd been with for many years, the transfer took place when we were mid treatment which Carriagehouse said would be kept open. We had to pause it n the middle due to a traumatic traffic incident with an over weight limit huge HGV lorry on the narrow lane near our yard. The material relating to this would have been transferred by Carriagehouse and I emailed Kbis too, but they didn't respond just sent a hugely increased renewal with a lengthy list of exclusions.Not a good experience and the first negative review, I'd give zero if that was possible.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They took over Carriage house insurance company who we were with and would then not continue to pay on our open claim.
We had not spent the full amount covered for our claim and they had zero communication.

I've used KBIS to insure both my horse, and our 3.5t horsebox.
Faultless customer service....... and yes, policy prices might be a little higher compared to other insurer's, but the only deduction made was my excess when I had to make a claim on my horse's policy.
So in the long run, it actually saves you money! As other insurer's make loads of deductions - which they don't tell you about!

In addition, when I made a claim, KBIS paid out really quickly..... staff always so helpful when I contacted them - and for me, because I work long hours, being able to have an email dialogue with them, which a big game changer for me!

I can highly recommended KBIS!

I would like to say a big thank you to KBIS on my recent Mortality Claim. Having lost my horse of lifetime, I did not even realise I had Mortality cover until I phoned up to cancel the insurance. It was KBIS who suggested that I made a claim despite not having a postmortem. I filled out the form and acquired the relevant information from my vet and they did the rest. I received the money in my bank quickly with no quibbles. They were informative and compassionate throughout the whole process and I am very grateful. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. 5 Star Service.

I have horse insurance with KBIS for a number of years and have found them to be helpful and knowledgeable about bloodstock. I recently had to claim on the colic/gastro intestinal surgery which is covered on the mortality policy. The claim was paid in full seemlessly on production of the necessary documentation. Sadly I had to claim on the death of the filly 3 months later which was also paid as per the policy. You cannot fault this.

Their customer service was amazing and they supported me every step of the way, even through the depths of the covid crisis. No quibble or push back, just amazing service. I have spoken to Claire Perry to renew my policy directly, rather than through a broker. She has made some incredibly helpful suggestions for various cost options. You hope never to need to use insurance for your horses, but it is reassuring to have an empathetic ear on the end of the phone when making decisions. Highly recommend.

I have been with KBIS since 1994 having insured a six-month foal. I now have three horses insured with them. I have had a few claims all of which have been dealt with very quickly. The service I have received has been very good. They also cover older animals too - I have a 28y old mare. The cost is very competitive.
