I've never known a company to not offer auto renewal and then absolutely hound you during working hours quite like Lancaster. Up to 4 phone calls every weekday while I'm working and obviously unable to answer, yet they persist. I managed to find cover for less than Lancaster had offered at renewal, but even if they'd been cheaper they'd managed to massively annoy me by not getting the hint that I can't answer the phone?

I have been with Lancaster insurance on and off for many years never really seem to have a problem until today. I went to cancel my insurance. My insurance was £150 for the whole year. I have paid them roughly £40 and had to pay them £81 to cancelled the insurance so I ended up paying the full year insurance, even though I’ve only had it for roughly 4 months, they obviously don’t really care about their customers. It’s just all about the money. I will not be returning back to this insurance company. I would rather find someone else to ensure my Car not in the group. If your plan is taking insurance out you find someone else.

Yep went to cancel my insurance as sold the car - original cost £340, went to cancel and the £285 rebate was exactly the same as the cancellation fee!! Read the small print folks. What has happened to Insurance Companies, it's like they don't want your business anymore!!! Won't return.

Sadly not a good experience at all. Be aware that cancellation costs are heavily loaded. Diligently paid my insurance for 5 years until my car was scrapped sadly. I was hit with a huge cost to cancel the policy, considerably more than one would expect as an administration charge. Not only that, but my experience with European breakdown cover with this company has been abysmal, left on the side of the road, disabled and during a storm. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company, the initial low cost is illusory. Beware of this company, there are better options for your classic car.

Just had insurnace cancelled by this lot for no real reason, don’t give you much of an explanation, they will just cancel your policy and then let you know 2 weeks later your prestige vehicle hasn’t been covered by insurance and to make matter worse they won’t refund you.

After years of a great, simple, efficient service at the right price, something at Lancaster has gone very very wrong!!! My renewal didn't offer like for like cover compared to my previous. It has taken four days and over four hours on the phone, with promises of call backs that never materialised and we're still not finalised. All for a very simple renewal policy with no changes. All this after they've taken my money and misold a policy that missed the most important part and the only reason I need classic car insurance. I won't be using them ever again! They used to be my go to, something has gone very very wrong. AVOID at all costs, if it's this hard to get a policy with the right cover, I can't imagine how hard would it be to make a claim.

They wanted an increase to premium when we moved to a lower risk area unlike the insurers of our two other vehicles who gave us refunds.
Today we sold car and cancelled premium paid on 26 Jan and no refund given due to excessive hidden fees. Never made a claim.

Absolutely awful insurance company. It takes hours to get hold of them, call backs aren't made. When we did finally get hold of them to cancel our policy, they seemingly spoke to their third party finance provider whilst we were on hold, to also cancel the finance agreement, but this was obviously a lie as the finance company have no record of that conversation and have now handed our account to a debt collection company. AVOID AVOID AVOID
