If you are looking to buy your first property, then you should know that at least one of their mortgage brokers (Katy Eatenton) works in collaboration with estate agents to entice potential buyers to make higher offers on properties. The estate agency I was dealing with for a property I wanted to buy, wanted to do financial checks on me through Katy to ensure I was proceedable as a buyer. I already had an AIP but the agent wouldnt accept that, I had to talk to Katy. Katy did some basic checks but she told me on more than one occasions that my offer was too low and the buyer wouldn't accept it. I didn't use Katy's services as I stopped all communication with her as soon as I got outbid. I just couldn't work with somebody like her. Mortgage advisers are supposed to help buyers not exploit their weaknesses. This is all legal but unethical.
