Post office used to be brilliant with very helpful and knowledgeable staff, since it's been moved to the front counter there is no more privacy, the staff don't have a clue as most of them have left, the opening hours list the weekend as open yet I have been on several occasions both on a Saturday and a Sunday and the PO counter is closed, It's absolute chaos since they've moved the post office to the front. They're going to lose custom and rightly so, whoever made this idiotic decision wants firing or be made to rectify it.

This Post office has been very good for many years and has served the surrounding district very well. However, the normal PO area and counter has now been moved next to the shop checkout. to be blunt it is a idiotic move and now causes chaos between the queue for the shop and the queue for the PO services. The local residents are disgusted that this retrograde step has at times caused confusion at the tills.
It is also unfortunate that one of the regular PO staff has left because of the chaos caused. Sometimes I just want to buy something from the shop and it is so silly how the shop staff have to push past the PO staff just to get to the shop counter to serve me. Also there is very little room now behind the new counter to store parcels and the last time that I used this PO, I had to wait whilst the PO staff had to take parcels to store in the old PO area because the had no more room in the new area.
Someone must have a logical reason for making the changes, but we who have to use the PO only see confusion.
I do believe that these changes will result in people not wanting to use the PO or shop. I for one only go into the shop if I want the PO and now shop elsewhere.
I do care what happens to my local shop.

What has happened to our lovely post office and staff? I'm gutted that it is now only over the counter/ no privacy what so ever. The cash machine doesn't work and there is no way I'm asking for cash over the counter. It used to be a great service as it was. Whoever has decided to get rid is a fool, the footfall was plenty. People will go elsewhere unless that's what you wanted

Used to be a brilliant post office with very knowledgeable and professional staff. Morrisons have made the stupid decision to close the proper PO counter and place it next to the main shop counter. What a stupid decision,far too cramped for both staff and customers, one member of staff has left already. Why have they done this?

Visited my local Post Office this morning to find out that the Counters had closed and had been moved to the front of the Morrisons shop.
After recovering from the initial shock of this a moment later one of the resident PO tellers appeared.
Whilst I am one for change, I cannot believe that the ladies now have to work in confined area couple switch the general store and are now employed to do both roles of postmaster and shopkeeper.
Whoever has implemented this at this busy local unit needs to take less blinkered look at the actual conditions they have to work in and through.
This is a busy local store and to move the PO from where it was is quite literally a JOKE.
To whoever it may concern this is putting the staff at some risk of a mental breakdown, one has already left after years off service and to see further demise will only make things less spirited.
Sort it out and quick please.

Since the main Post office desk at the rear of the shop has been closed its nothing but chaos in the shop,
1 of the experienced staff have left because of security concerns, and I believe more will leave unless the back ( secure & private ) counter re-opens.
It was an idiotic move to close the main counter as it was the best in Ilkeston.
Most people I have spoken to about this diabolical change have agreed, They just don't feel safe depositing money at the shop counter and it's definatly NOT private anymore !!
I would urge whoever is in charge to re-open the back counter and bring some security back to this post office.
It is a hub for the local community and has forced a lot of people to go elsewhere.

My experience of the post office has always been an extremely positive one but sadly since you've moved the counter from where its always been to the shop front I find it extremely stressful. It's too busy, not enough space and watching the poor staff running around trying to store parcels is quite frankly ridiculous.
You've clearly no regard for your staff or regular customers but purely profit, it's not good!

The staff are very friendly and helpful but since they have closed the post office counter and moved the post office to the shop tills it is a nightmare. People queueing all round the shop for the tills so this blocks people doing their shopping. Two people walked out whilst I was waiting. Not sure what Morrisons thinking is behind this but it’s certainly not for customer satisfaction.
