Richard supported us every step of the way, he was on hand and very quick to reply to explain any aspect of the process we were unclear about. He remained in contact with us constantly without being pushy or demanding and went above and beyond to keep things flowing throughout the chain.

Richard gave us suggestions for removals, solicitors and mortgage advisers which was a great platform to start from but he was never pushy about who we should use. He also fitted viewings and appointments around us and often helped us by making phone calls for us whilst we were at work.

I will definitely be going back to them if/when we move next time as they made the process slick and stress free. I feel that Major Son and Phipps listen to their customers and adapt for the person they are dealing with.

I very much enjoyed the more than 10 years during which Andrew Barnett of Major Son & Phipps was my managing agent. I always felt we were a team and working together to achieve happy tenants and a good return. Sadly, he spoiled me so that I was not prepared for other managing agents in other parts of the country, who have made me feel that they, not I, came first and that I was somehow subordinate to them and had to accept what they were prepared to do.

We did not have a good experience with this agent. We complained but weren’t listened to & unfortunately I believe a lot of these reviews are probably fake. The issue lies with Richard Winckley, who appears lovely until it serves his interests to be quite different. We discovered at a later date rather huge defects in the apartment we were buying, but instead of apologising Richard became quite forceful & verging on rude as he kept insisting “you would have been told.”. Of course, we weren’t told, but apparently he wasn’t happy about that so pushed the blame onto us. He apparently couldn’t remember who told us or when while he insisted it must have happened. It was quite an interesting conversation. We’ve also heard other things about him among respectable Richmond residents who were equally unhappy with how he conducts himself when he believes no one is watching, but won’t go into details as it’s not our place to. This is just our humble opinion. We would avoid in future. Lovely staff but would benefit from new management.
