(PMS) are the managing agents for a property i was the leaseholder of, they employed this firm to prepare our service charge accounts.

I was advised by PMS that information was passed to these accountants in Sept 2021 so they could prepare the annual service charge accounts for the prior year but unfortunately these accounts took YEARS to prepare and finalise all at a cost to leaseholders citing complex issues (?!!).

Because these reports are required annually per the lease and other related agreements, it caused a diabolical backlog where not only were leaseholders property sales delayed while waiting for these reports to catch up but we were hit with a bill for 25k for underpaid tariffs etc as a direct result of this delay. While PMS does bear most of the responsibility for poorly managed properties, this firm was required to prepare accounts and my experience is that it took them 3-4 years to prepare an 8 page document.

Therefore, If you are someone requiring a similar document to be prepared, if it is not straightforward and there is some potential it could be complex, i would prepare yourself to be waiting a long time for it to arrive!
