This is the most ridiculous insourance.
They sends you from one to another garage to resolve the issue on car and nobody working properly. I did not resolve with them nothing and i repaired my car to my good knowing garage.
Don’t do this again like me.

0 stars for this company! We broke down in France a month ago. We received a message stating that it would take between 10 to 15 days for the car to be repatriated to the UK.
Today, after 15 working days with no updates during this time, we called them and they informed us that the car is still in France and they don’t know when it will be sent back to the UK.
We are extremely disappointed with the service. Make sure not to use this company for any reason.

I’ve had a very pleasant experience with Opteven, I had two claims which were escalated swiftly on my Audi A7. I was updated & kept in the loop throughout the whole process. The payout was quicker than expected, no delays. The team was very welcoming and understanding with the mechanical issues of my car, they helped me as much as they could and at the end we got the car resolved by a approved dealer and Opteven paid the full amount. I have recommended to my friends & family. Thanks

Absolute waste of time. Example. A modern car has a large number of sensors. This warranty covered 2. I’m surprised the AA have anything to do with them. I predict in 5 years this company will be out of business

My son took out the 2 yr extended warranty for an additional £605. Owned car for 6 months and the clutch needs replacing. The garage dealing with the car face timed opteven showing all components and the technician agreed it wasn't wear and tear. Received message this morning saying its down to wear and tear and not covered. Absolutely disgusted with this company. Happy to take your money but refuse to pay out. Even the garage who sold the car doesn't know what components are covered under the warranty. Absolute joke

Shoddy service with staff who keep you in the dark and out of the loop.

Opteven are not cut out for dealing with claims as the staff are so disorganised and confused.

One day they’ll tell you to expect emails in the evening regarding the status of your claim and the next thing you know you’ll be waiting three days with no response.

Then you’ll call again asking for a follow up, they’ll promise again that you’ll receive something in the evening (you don’t) and then on the third day of calling nearly a week since you originally decided to follow up on your near three week claim you’ll get a response saying your claim is denied in an email filled with grammatical errors, a lack of information.

Genuinely how can you operate like this when you don’t even treat customers with respect and make false promises.

Lost time and money dealing with this, hopefully I’ll never have to speak to them again.

NEVER AGAIN WITH OPTEVEN AA Warranty

NEVER AGAIN WITH OPTEVEN
You are not covered by an AA warranty insurance cover.
The AA policy is now owned by Opteven. Covea Insurance. (French)
IMPORTANT I live in Montrose Angus northeast Scotland.

My AA level of cover was Protect Plus. 3-year cover May 2022. BMW
During the second year, my car developed an electrical sensor fault detected by Greenflag breakdown. I informed Opteven, and they confirmed car sensors were covered and provided me with a list of their approved garages I telephoned all of their approved garages (50+ mile radius) and to my disappointment, none were qualified to carry out Auto electrical repairs and none knew they were Opteven or AA approved repairers. I emailed Opteven's complaints department informing them of this situation. In reply, the Complaints Manager Alexis Watson suggested I find a VAT reg garage of “MY CHOICE” to carry out the repairs stating they will only pay a max labour rate of £50 per hour. Not satisfied with this unreasonable solution I requested that they organise repairs to my car as specified in my policy. This was rejected because they did not know how much I could afford above the £50-hour labour rate. I contacted Auto Electrical Garages quoting £90 to £120 per hour with no guarantees. I Concluded my policy with Opteven/ AA was a total waste of money I terminated my policy for a pro rata refund to pay for the repairs. I reported Opteven to the Financial Ombudsman and they found in my favour compensation. Feb 2024.
A word of warning if you intend to claim compensation via the Financial Ombudsman do not cancel payment as the policy/claim becomes void.
