A pedantic, petty small minded committee, that run the club like some personal fiefdom, with a…“Reight ya barred” kind of mentality. Peopled by a clique, riven, clientele, that view strangers like interlopers. No talking whilst bingo is on, nor standing at the bar, or you’re quickly issued a warning by one of the over important up their own backside, committee members.
So unless you like spending your time with narrow minded folk and being policed by a Stasi type committee, this backward looking club is not the place of dreams or one for a good night out, quite frankly more, A Nightmare on Whitley’s Avenue, and a bigger nightmare than on Elm Street.

I have to agree with Johnny Actions comments, proper nightmare of a place. For example, one of the committee members dresses up in a cross between some kind of gangster come funeral director, look.

A tremendous working man's club, large seating area inside with plenty of tables and chairs to watch a group, play bingo or to just come and socialise. A varied selection of beers, lagers and wine. It has a smaller enclosed room to the right as you walk in with a large TV screen and smaller bar where drinks are available. It can be hired out for private functions and when a popular group or band is on at the weekend, it will be quite busy. Recently attended a funeral here in the last few days and the place was heaving with friends and family and myself as a former work friend from the steel works. Very impressed with the buffet that was laid on for him. There is a small carpark to the side of the club but there is plenty of off street parking around. There is seating outside for the summer, some with a canopy above for if it rains. The toilets are to right as go in the main entrance and are upto a high standard. Friendly staff are ready to serve you, once you enter. Reasonable priced so you won't break the bank, well worth a look.
