After using Resident for a number of years for our growing portfolio, we decided to move to a different software provider that gave us, in our opinion, better functionality. We were given a contract end date of 30/12/2024.

A large number of our site year end packs needed to run until 31/12/2024, so I asked Resident if they could extend our contract by one day. They refused, and said I would need to pay for an additional YEAR to have the extra day.

Not only that, they then advised they would be removing full access to everything at 12pm on the 30/12, despite us pointing out if we had paid for the day, we should have the full day (and needed it, as we were frantically downloading end of year packs and all other information due to them revoking complete access to the system, not even leaving a viewing access for a grace period). We had to wait until the last second to download the packs, so they contained as much information as possible, and we reduced the amount of manual information we would need to add.

I would have been more than happy to pay for another month, just to have that one extra day, to allow the financial packs to be complete, but was told that wasn't an option.

I emailed Jon, whom I have had a good working relationship with, asking for a compromise, but he didn't even bother to respond. It seems as soon as you give notice, the customer service ends there.

We spent a frantic three months manually offloading all information we had added to the system, with no assistance from Resident at all. Thankfully it was all done in time and we can move forward with what we believe to be a much more efficient software package that suits our needs.

I have always been of the opinion that even if a client is leaving you, you give them the full service right until the end of the contract and still treat them the same as your other clients. Jon and Craig couldn't be more helpful during the sign up process and onboarding, but sadly the same cannot be said for the end of our working relationship.

This has left a very bad taste in my mouth and would not recommend this software to anyone looking for good customer service. For a better price, we have moved to a software that so far seems to have much more functionality, much less clunky and is making life a lot easier.

User friendly software and very helpful team.
Has saved us hours of time, especially with invoice payments - as their software works directly with the banks to produce one BACs export to pay from multiple accounts, whereas other block management software tends to only work if you have a global account.

I started a cold start business in 2020 and Resident was appealing initially given their pricing structure which is great for smaller businesses and the ease of use and overall functionality. We have grown exponentially and now manage over 200 sites in total and have found that there really is no requirement for additional 'bolt on' maintenance or accounting sites as Resident covers everything to run an effective PM business with growing staff numbers.
The invoicing system also reduces office head count by 1 in my experience.
Having extensively looked at other software systems for this industry I simply don't feel there is an equal match.
Coupled with the reliability and efficiency of Resident is the extremely personable team, headed by Jon, owner, who truly has given me the ongoing support that I require, particularly in the early days! The senior team are all very pleasant to deal with and the support is efficient and concise on a day to day basis.

I've got to say, since we started using Resident after integrating into our property management company, it's been a game-changer. The software itself is easy to use. Making budgeting and payment reconciliations so much easier and saving us a lot of time.

But you know what really makes Resident stand out? It's the people behind it. They don't treat us like just another client. They really take the time to get to know us, making everything feel more personal. And Craig, our account manager, deserves a shoutout! He's not just amazing at what he does, he's also great to chat with. Working with him is fun!

We have been using Resident Block Management software for just over a year now and I love it! Kate, Jon, Michal and Kat at Resident have been absolutely brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. It's no exaggeration to say that Resident is transforming the way we work and the software continues to get even better. The weekly training seminars are a great idea.I like to join them live if possible to make full use of the Q&A element but having them available on the archive is extremely useful. I looked at lots of block management software before choosing Resident and I know that I definitely made the right decision.
