What amazing food! There was 6 of us eating and we all had different dishes and each and everyone if us loved it. Huge portion sizes , the best gravy and Yorkshire pudding! Dog friendly too. Great place after a walk in the local area

If you leave here hungry it is definitely your own fault. What an absolute gem this place is, the pies are spectacular, fresh, delicious, hot, homemade with buckets of gravy, vegetables mash etc. That is not an exaggeration. Such helpful staff who sent us the menu by text so we could pre order ahead of a big table of people. Generally lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. This is a proper pub!

Amazingly tasty food, massive portions, in a really pretty family run pub with lots of quirky decorations. Very friendly happy service too. Highly recommended.

I can honestly say this is the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had (including my mums which is now a close second!).
The lamb is amazing and the gravy is theeeee best ever. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you 🙏🏻

Literally the BEST PIE we’ve ever had! Discovered this gem via a route on the all trails app. Great selection of all the pies you could wish for, service was top notch in a very cosy pub atmosphere! The home made chips & jug of gravy made the meal even better. The jam roly poly is highly recommended (if you’ve got any stomach space!). Also, the pub is dog friendly!

What an absolute gem of a place! We visited here whilst staying close by for the weekend, I would 100% travel from Manchester for the pie! We ordered peppered steak, turkey/ham and stuffing, minted lamb and cheese and onion. The portions were huge, we even took what we couldn't finish away. Will definitely be back for a roast as the gravy was out of this world. All the staff were lovely and attentive, so many pie options and just a proper quirky authentic yorkshire pub with local meats used. Loved it and can't recommend enough!

We went for a Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint. Beautiful location, attentive and helpful staff, and the food was incredible. The Lamb Henry was succulent and tasty, the veggies cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire puddings were delicious. We especially enjoyed the homemade Baileys ice cream, too. A delightful experience.

I gave this 5 star purely for the ambiance and the welcome , step back in time ye olde pub , great selection of ales . You can sit outside . People popping in for a drink and banking the fire up , we didn't have the food ,we were recommended as we were staying on the caravan site just down the rd about 2o min walk ,at the time only open Thurs onwards we were there on Wednesday . Staff very welcoming and the locals
