For a historical market town I've seen more stalls at a house garage sale, the council should be ashamed, both ilkley and Otley are 100% better

Selby market day is a Monday. It's famous for its bank holiday specials which are well worth visiting. There are also special evening markets and Saturday farmers market too. It's set on the old market place in front of Selby Abbey but can spill out into adjoining roads. The normal weekly market on a Monday is much smaller. It's worth visiting the abbey when you're in town.

It's a market.. bank holls are best but other than that most traders have gone due to council rates and stupid rules.. Was a great market when I was a lad.. shame really..

Weatheralls is a great store to look around as there are different departments on each floor. There is also a cafe on the second floor with polite staff, a great service and a great environment.

Very disappointed with the Monday Market at Selby, Hardly any stalls, The market started to go downhill when Selby Council took it upon themselves to stop erecting stalls, Now it is knowhere as big as it was, Selby Council in thier wisdom have killed the market, Tried too save money but lost so much more with less footfall. The car park had one stall, Time Selby Council got there act together and put the stalls back up for the traders.
