My car had been involved in a non fault accident. It got repaired through an insurance approved garage. After getting my car back the digital dashboard stopped working and number of other electrical issues. I took it to an independent Mercedes garage who noticed rain water had leaked into car from where it had been repaired. It was the start of a nightmare journey for me. I was literally told by my insurance company that I had to prove that the water recess was from directly from repair to my vehicle. Andy Brown an engineer from Hoopers was the second engineer to look into my case. He did not give up and continued to to resolve it. Eventually after months and plenty of hard work from Andy it was proven the garage that repaired my car hadn’t done the job correctly and it was rectified by the main dealer. The garage had to admit liability when shown the evidence. I just want to say thank you to Andy Brown in believing in me and not giving up. You really helped me and my family in such a stressful time. Your a credit to Hoopers. Thank you again sir.

Engineer said in person that the headlight had not been replaced and just glued together, that they were original headlights, that the work done was shoddy, marked lots and took photos. Did a subject access request as my insurance closed my complaint to find out he put on his report completely the opposite. Good job I have security cameras around my home to back me up.

I've waited until now to leave this review as I'm more than reasonable but after 3 "independent inspections" from Hoopers I can safely say they're anything but independent.

During the 1st 2 inspections the engineers were quite rude and arrogant. During the 2nd inspection I informed the engineer that there was a bad/faulty connection sound coming from the front passenger door/speaker area following "rectification works" by KC Autos Atherton. A few weeks after the 2nd inspection I had set off driving and there was a loud "pop" from the front passenger area and smoke started to come through the vent with an electrical burning smell - at that point I pulled over right away as I thought the car was going to set on fire. Following this none of the speakers in the car are working - I informed my insurer and after going through the Financial Ombudsman Service they agreed to organise another inspection. In the meantime, I took my car to an auto electrician as I thought it was an issue with the speakers but after diagnostics they discovered that the media control unit had burnt out (estimated around £2000 to repair).

Macauley was the engineer who visited for the 3rd time and I was pleasantly surprised as he seemed very helpful compared to the previous engineers. During the inspection I showed Macauley the issue, he then informed me that he would contact Steve at KC Autos Atherton to obtain "system scans, etc" from the repairs to see if it showed any diagnostic warnings. He then stated that "whether it is or it isn't, at the end of the day, it's a fairly new vehicle, it's only 4 years old, it's done quite low mileage, it's a clean car". But today I have been informed by my insurer (Hastings) that the engineer's report states that the issue hasn't been caused by the accident itself or the several rounds of "rectification works" and therefore they won't be paying for the repair. Unfortunately, it seems like my only option now is to go back to the Financial Ombudsman Service as this just isn't acceptable - there were no issues with the car (2018 plate) until after the accident in July 2022 - yes, that's how long this has been going on for!

So, in conclusion, I've been told one thing to my face and the report states something completely different. Going off other reviews it seems like I'm not the first person to experience this - AVOID.

Con artists specifically hired to make sure you don't get a pay out.
Was involved in an accident and my vehicle was clearly a write off with damage to almost every panel.
Car was collected and inspected by one of their 'engineers' who agreed was total loss and offered me £2000 for it when it would be impossible to replace like for like for any lower than around £7000.
After pointing this out they explained they would further inspect the vehicle to gain a fairer evaluation...
Months passed without any communication from them or update even after me routinely calling. Then out of the blue months after the accident I was contacted to explain they will not be paying out due to 'technicalities'.
To sum up, a part on the vehicle which is a known failure point (vacuum system rubber hoses) had been replaced with a more durable silicone alternative. Because of this and the fact the hoses were blue they claimed the car had been 'modified beyond manufacturers specifications' even though these parts do nothing to change the performance of the vehicle or increase the likelihood of theft.
So I was left with a wreck and no pay out. But at least the hoses were still functional!

My car has been back to body shop a number of times. I was still not happy with the repair due to wind noise whilst driving and poor panel gaps. My insurance company arranged for Hoopers to access the work. 3 weeks later waiting at the body shop, Hoopers engineer accessed the work and he could not see any issues and refused to drive the car to access the wind noise as could not compare to another vehicle. I was also talked to very rudely
Photos provided by the body shop clearly show an issue.

Update another vehicle inspector was called out and found many defects with the repair which I could not even see.

The car had to have the repair carried out all over again by a different body shop not endorsed by my insurance.

The newly completed work has been finished to an excellent standard.

Unable to provide 5 stars as the inspections were not consistent.

However thank you to the customer service team at Hoopers for resolving my complaint.

Zero stars!!!!! If there was even an option i wouldnt give them any. Avoid this company at all costs.

Impossible to actually get a hold of someone, you litterally wIt anywhere up to an hour and a half in a queue to speak to an advisor.

Just had my performance vehicle inspected and from the monent he inspected the car i could tell it was an extremely bias opinion. Lap dogs to the insurance companies trying to devalue any claim. I havent even received the report yet but i can tell from the way he was selective and dictated what damage was "existing" and what was new. Never even pictured all of the damage only selective about what he pictured.

Insurance forced me to use them only for a so called engineer to tell me that opening and closing my boot proves there is no damage to the chassis and the panels line up well I think he needs his eyes check as every panel I see is misaligned so now I'm forced to use the garage that said they done all repairs when this is the second car they haven't fixed properly so can't wait for the result of my own independent engineers report as if there is chassis damage I will be taking action to ensure that the cowboy company is correctly dealt with as how many people are driving unsafe cars due to hooper lies
