I was referred to Sopher and Co to advise on setting up a business as an American living in the UK. Upon their advice, my husband and I established an LLP which S&C facilitated. Come to find out later that for some reason HMRC had no record of my membership as part of the LLP. That was just one issue, add multiple penalty notices from HMRC and Companies House due to their lack of organisation, lack of communication and all at an extremely high price tag. As a new business owner with little background in accounting I would have expected far better service and not spending my time writing appeals for penalty notices that I am still dealing from 2019/20.
