I was so glad this estate agency was recommended to me by a previous seller for whom they found a buyer within days. They found me a buyer within a week. All the way through the tortuous process that selling a house is these days, they were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. It was always a pleasure to call in to see them and get progress reports. Well done, and grateful thanks.

We bought our first house through Stepping Stones in the first half of 2024. From start to finish, they were compassionate, patient and understanding—something we really valued as first-time buyers. When we moved in, they gave us a housewarming gift box which I thought was really touching, and was indicative of their care for us throughout the home-buying process. We will definitely be considering using them as our estate agent if we ever decide to sell our house!!

We moved into our first house with stepping stones and they could not have been more helpful and amazing! Jessica was so lovely in helping us every step of the way and she made sure we were satisfied and supported during the application process and in the house itself after moving in. Thank you so much for helping us find our cosy house that we love so much! Couldn’t recommend stepping stones enough! From experience renting, best customer service from an estate agents we’ve ever had.

1 star & only because my property sold itself to the first viewer & the 5 months it took to complete were not down to SS. However, I was lied to from the off, told the maintenance fee of £2400 pa was to be paid by the vendor for the first year, this was a sales ploy. The property price was reduced to attract new buyers & the offer was removed but the agent showing me round wasn't up to date on that little scam so spilled the beans. I didn't get anything to placate me for that, not even a proper apology. Their advert absolves them from any errors or oversights, deliberate or erroneous, and they wonder why estate agents have a bad name. SS had rented out the property I bought for years & the vendor I am told is herself in the estate agency business. I feel so sorry for those who have shelled out their hard earned cash to rent the property before I bought. I did not have a survey, my choice, but it would not have shown the worst thing, which was that the immersion heater was practically turned to lace due to the level of rust at the side around the pipes & underneath. I could get zero hot water, lovely when you've sweated & strained to move house & can't get clean or even mop the floor. The plumber I employed to replace it said it was a good job it wouldn't switch on because it could've blown at any point & damaged not only my flat but probably right down to the shops underneath with scalding water. He said it couldn't possibly have had a service as no engineer worth his salt would've passed that dangerous device. The vendors however produced an up to date service certificate, strange that. It was a 16 year old heater, the agents & the owners clearly cared nothing for the well-being of their tenants. The greasy cooker has a broken greasy hob burner, the greasy cooker switch is virtually hanging off the wall, it has a broken greasy extractor hood & broken greasy cupboard lights. The washer housing door has not been reattached as I requested. I also requested the flat be cleaned & was told a professional team had been in - see photos. What I don't get is why lie? Why not just say the money-grabbing vendors wouldn't pay a few pounds or make the effort to do it themselves. A small & simple job. Luckily I had the money to replace the immersion, but it was possible I could've been down to my last penny & then what? They knew I was selling to downsize & they told me other parties were interested so why not just tell the truth & give me a chance. There was supposed to be someone living in the flat until 2 months before I completed, if that is true they must've been pretty ripe or boiling a kettle to wash. Someone had also obviously sat on one of the heaters & it is precariously hanging off the wall. It's just so immoral & done at a time when life is incredibly stressful, as moving home is for most people, but I was also recovering from major surgery & I'm in constant pain with arthritis & was very worried about finances, SS knew this. I probably would still have bought the place but wouldn't have been kicked in the guts quite as hard if I'd known. Caveat emptor as they say. They didn't even change the lightbulb that I'd asked about which was easy for an able-bodied person. It cost £2.00 for a new one. Well I'm a firm believer in karma, what goes around comes around, no business is safe these days & hopefully the vendors are finding their dream home has a few hidden nightmares, if indeed that was the reason for the sale, I've had a surprising quantity of unpaid bills received in their name. As the main defence from SS seems to be the claim that they don't know the complainant (I mean seriously who would bother to make false accusations?) my name is Claire Cassidy & I bought 25 Wren Nest Mill.
The immersion pic shows my nice new one.

Stepping Stones were absolutely amazing during our house purchase. We had some issues with the land registry as well as communication between the solicitors, but Stepping Stones had excellent communication throughout the process and helped us chase the solicitors on several occasions. I would absolutely recommend Stepping Stones to anyone buying or selling a house, I wouldn’t use anyone else! Molly was fantastic and quick to respond to my many emails in a friendly and helpful manner.

I viewed a property listed with Stepping Stones yesterday and was very impressed. I have viewed many properties over the years and this was like no other experience in terms of professionalism. Amanda arrived promptly and was prepared with all the property details. She was respectful of the property, inviting us to wear shoe coverings and also ensuring we didn’t see security codes. She took time to establish our buying needs, was cheerful and didn’t rush us. She had excellent knowledge of the local area, and no question was too much trouble. I can only hope that the agent selling my house is as thorough. Exemplary.
