I’m sorry to say I was disappointed with our visit, having been really looking forward to the beehive under new management. We had left it a few months to let the new team settle in.

Sadly a few things stuck out, we were left standing at the bar for ages with no warm welcome, we ordered a Sunday roast and it was unfortunately edible but not enjoyable (bland meats, overcooked and dry, soggy roast potatoes, plain veg, mozerella on the cauliflower cheese, sad sausages in blankets). All in all felt like it really lacked care and quality.

Lastly, and the weirdest thing… We asked for a glass of wine and were told “no wine list” so we just said yes to a Marlborough Sauv (which was nice) and paid over £25 without being informed until the bill arrived. Just really strange... £75 later we felt disappointed that we had visited.

We are local so may try again in the future but we would need convincing that others had enjoyed a meal here, I’m sorry to say.

A recent visit here for midweek tea . Lots of good reviews and so we looked forward to trying this pub. Ample parking and a dog friendly pub, which was a bonus. Wheelchair access would be possible. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly the atmosphere was somewhat flat due to lack of people in the pub. A variety of foods to choose from on the menu suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians.
We ordered 3 bean burger and vegetable lasagne. Both came with approx 8 large cut chips and a small portion of salad.
The bun of the burger was big. 5he burger had a somewhat average taste. The lasagne base tasted strongly of tomatoes and nothing else. Chips were average tasting too and on the soggy side.
I would definitely recommend ordering a 2 or 3 course meal if having the lasagne as main as this meal alone was not filling. The lasagne portion was much smaller than I have experienced anywhere else.
Perhaps at the weekend the atmosphere is more vibrant. Reasonably priced with a large amount of alcoholic choices. Overall not a bad place perhaps just an off day in the kitchen? On a positive note, service was good and fast.

Lovely pub in a nice area with plenty of beer garden space with benches. The lunch meal is excellent value for money at 2 for £16, with the food being delicious. Would definitely come back if I'm walking in the area again

Unfortunately didn't have best of experiences. Chicken Diane was blandest meal I have ever eaten. Sauce was just cream and mushroom with no seasoning whatsoever. 2 of us that ordered it emptied table salt and pepper pots into it to try and make it taste of something but really was not great. Maybe chef forgot some steps along the way. Chicken liver pate had 2cm thick fat on top of it. More than there was of the pate. We ordered drinks and but had to chase them number of times, the starters were eaten without a drink. The pub is lovely, it was busy so I imagine the service issue was down to that and a very young girl serving us, maybe she was quite new. Rest of our group were disapointed with size of their puddings and overall service. None of us would want to return unless there was massive improvements.

Revisited this pub after calling in for a drink a few months ago. The new owner Steve is very friendly and loves kids and dogs to visit his new venture. Menu choices are varied, we had the Tandoori chicken on a flatbread with homemade chips and tzatziki and coriander dip, also something I've not seen on any menu before Steak and Oxtail pie, creamy mash, broccoli and mange tout, with a jug of gravy. Both dishes were excellent, the pie is amazing, also separate Tapas menu which seemed very popular with other diners, something we will have to try next time. However we had to wait over 50 mins for our food, and I had to chase it up when I went to the bar for more drinks, when the food arrived it was a bit cold , probably been waiting for the food servers to bring out, as the gravy had a skin on Perhaps you could get more staff Steve at busy times (weekends) but it did not spoil the evening we will return to review your Tapas menu, recommend booking at weekends, got very busy, 2 car parks, lovely pub

My ratings are based on my meal. My partner had the burger and wasn't impressed at it's densely dry consistency and thought the bacon on top tasted a little weird. He's a trained chef and thinks burgers should be succulently tender.

I had the prawn and salmon salad which was lovely, it had plenty of ingredients and was very filling. Our friend had the lasagne which she said was very tasty. The wine was a good quality and wasn't overly priced.

we had the roast dinner, we arrived at 5 and unfortunately they had ran out of most of the meats for the roast dinner and another dish was unavailable. The food was lovely just ashame some things wasn’t available. And the wait time was longer than average. But overall it is a nice pub.
