We found this pub by accident on our way to Diss. We were told that the waitress would be with us in 10 minutes to take our order we waited 20. They then said food could be up to a further 30 minutes for a sandwich and a bowl of chips. They were speedy enough to come out to take our money before the food arrived. The food was ok, but the experience was all very disappointing and we were made to feel like a lunchtime inconvenience. Wouldn't recommend.

All you can want from a ‘Local Pub’.

Visiting a work colleague we went for lunch. Delightful in many ways.

Friendly and helpful. Nice lunch menu and I hand fish finger on sourdough!

Welcoming fire and when sunny outside seating.

Good wifi too

No food on a Sunday night not what I expected after a six hour drive but drove to diss very good indian room at the bell I booked a room with king size bed and bath room very clean and warm mattress needs to be changed very uncomfortable the bed frame noise every time you moved so not a good night sleep up Monday morning for a funeral asked for mattress topper or different room no apologies breakfast OK nothing special back to the room to get changed young girl came to the room and said we have another room still no apologies moved our stuff to the new room standard size bed and shower no bath I book the previous room due to my needs as i have disabilities went to funeral came back in the evening ordered rustic steak for me and my partner @ £21 each was the worst meat I have had in a long time couldn't eat it sent it back no apologies again 3 other people in the restaurant also sent there's back then the young lad was trying to blame the supplier the chef should know what he's bought and tried to cook Tuesday morning still no apologies lady who took our food order was very polite and I would say the only professional person in this pub so called hotel breakfast again nothing special not worth the £248 I paid for 2 nights I have no apologies or offer of a part refund

Great Pub Restaurant, food is great and great value too.
Customer service is 10/10 made to feel very welcome and very friendly.
Dog friendly, they even get a bowl of treats.
The pub itself is decorated very well and has lots of character.
We only recently moved to the village and can’t believe we have this amazing establishment on our doorstep.

The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice but the bathrooms were small. Location wise we couldn't get a taxi to take us to a wedding just 6 miles away so that was disappointing, but the food and drink was great and they were accommodating for vegan diets.

Lunchtime meal wth friends. Booked ahead. Delicious, fresh cooked food. Good sized portions. Interesting menu. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service. How lucky we are to have this super restaurant/ pub/ hotel on our doorstep.

Feel so lucky to have moved to Rickinghall & on moving day waiting for my keys myself & my dogs were made to feel more than welcome by not just the staff but other regular customers. We also got to enjoy a better than expected breakfast & treats for my girls so much so that we’ve only been here for a few weeks but made more visits to enjoy more breakfasts, dinners, Sunday lunch & a few drinks. Not only is The Bell a beautiful pub, they offer excellent food, excellent drinks, welcome dogs with open arms & always make you feel extremely welcome. Thank you to everyone at The Bell we look forward to enjoying many more visits😍

Just stopped for lunch and a pint and very glad we did, recommend the burger and chips and other meals being served look equally good. Friendly service and a lovely cosy place to stop
