We visited for dinner and had high expectations, which in this instance were fully met.. There were three of us, so we tried a few starters, mains and desserts.. great, local, fresh ingredients skillfully cooked into amazing dishes that we all very much enjoyed.. highlights were the squash w ricotta, the chicken pie, the pheasant, and the apple pie.. service was friendly, but also quick and efficient, albeit not as attentive as perhaps one would expect.. last, we also felt pricing was reasonable given the quality (it came to £55/person). Overall, a very pleasant dining experience and would probably go back.

Spent the night at the Bull for my wife’s birthday. Room (6) was absolutely beautiful, with a free-standing bath and lovely features. Both dinner and breakfast (which we had in the room) were faultless, and all the staff were lovely. We had a fantastic stay.

The only negative I would say was I was a little miffed not to have breakfast included for the price of the room!

We dont normally add reviews but we had such a lovely meal at the Bull last weekend. They managed to even find us a table in the restaurant which was appreciated. The food and service was excellent and of course, the pub was beautiful. With so many restaurants around, this was definitely the best choice 🙂

I don't typically write reviews unless it is about food, but I feel the need to commemorate the customer service and staff at The Bull. Although we ran into an issue with our booking reservation, they proceeded to do everything right. The employees were attentive and genuinely there to help make our experience at The Bull the best possible. There is good service and there are good people, and The Bull has both of those. Not to mention, the food was incredible. The only thing I regret is not saving room for dessert.

Highly recommended -- but make a reservation so you can eat in the dining area (more comfortable seating).
My wife and I ate at The Bull twice in the last week, and we will be back again before leaving Charlbury. Beer, service, food all were exceptional. I had the flat iron steak w horseradish sauce both times and my wife had the pork chop, and a pot pie. Extra was the beets with special green sauce and goat cheese -- so so good.
Ya gotta eat here!

Arrived on a Friday night without a booking but the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our party of four despite being virtually fully booked.

Food was amazing and the pub itself very charming but the absolute highlight was the service we received from the manager Ed and his staff. So helpful, friendly and dedicated to the customer's experience. The Bull is a must if you're in the area and looking for great food in a lovely setting with wonderful service. We will be back.

We went to the Bull for a simple late lunch after our visit to Blenheim Palace. It was a well-balanced menu. The place was busy even at 2 pm but it didn't affect the service. We were very well looked after by our waitress who patiently went through the menu with us. The food was good including many well-executed vegetable dishes . A simple lunch with good food was the reason we came for and it was what we got.

Stumbled on this stunning restaurant on a Friday evening without a booking, It was extremely busy and although no obvious tables were available the staff put in a lot of effort working out an option for our party of four to have a meal. This level of service is something I have rarely experienced and was an indication of the experience throughout the rest of the evening. All the staff were professional, friendly and very helpful. When we met the manager Ed it was obvious where the culture of this restaurant came from, this guy was on a different level! Our experience with the staff was only enhanced by the quality of the food. Definitely going back and would highly recommend to everyone.
