I purchased silver coins worth a few hundred pounds from Bullion by Post as a birthday gift for my father, opting for the tracked and signed-for service provided by Royal Mail 24. However, the tracking information shockingly revealed that the item was left on the floor, and there was no signature confirming its delivery.

I immediately contacted Bullion by Post to inquire about the precise delivery location so I could retrieve the parcel. Instead of assisting, they demanded confidential documents which I was extremely uncomfortable providing. My request was straightforward — for them to verify the parcel's location with Royal Mail so I could collect it.

Regrettably, they refused to pursue the matter with Royal Mail unless I provided the documents, citing their terms and conditions. However, as they are neither a government body nor a bank, their demand for such sensitive information is unwarranted and excessive.

They even suggested that I contact Royal Mail myself, but as Royal Mail only deals directly with the sender, this was not a feasible solution. Bullion by Post's unwillingness to help has resulted in a complete loss of the money spent and a ruined birthday celebration for my father.

I am sharing this experience to caution potential customers about their practices. Please be aware that their customer support may be unhelpful and their document demands invasive, potentially leaving you out of pocket without recourse.

Charge you extra to pay cash- even though it says on website 2% charge over £3000. I wanted to buy a coin well under that price and they still tired to charge me the 2% fee. I said it doesn’t say that on the web site he just shrugged at me

My family had collected pre 1947 silver coins just before decimalisation. They were not useful up there in the attic so they had to go. The Bullion Store offered the best price for them and were very professional. I would definitely go back there again without a doubt.
