It has taken me soooo long to do it, but GOODBYE Co-op bank. Switch initiated today. I've been with you since I was a student 25 years ago. I miss the old customer service, phones that were answered, banking that worked, and the old cooperative principles that came before private equity. I really hope someone in The Co-operative Bank listens, and maybe just maybe gets the damn app to work too!

I applied for a new bank account through their online services. After weeks of waiting nothing happened. Did not even get a letter to say the application wasn't successful. Customer service takes forever to get through, when I eventually did they told me it will be looked into and someone will get back. No one did. Makes me wonder if my personal info is safe with Co operative bank. Appalling bank and customer services. Now opened an account with Monzo and couldn't be happier.

'The ethical bank' is what they say. They are like any other bank or financial institution. Open arms when the going is good and shut the door in your face when it isn't. I recently had a financial bump in the road and was met with 'sorry there's nothing we can do to help'. Luckily, I have cashed a pension in. So when it gets paid into said bank after being with them 15 years, I will close my account and take my money elsewhere. Take note and avoid if you can.

I have been a member of the co-op Bank for over sixty years. They have looked after me and my account with a firm hand
I do not need to worry about any scams or unusual happenings as the bank is always on the ball.
I would like to say a special thanks to Samantha at Manchester for her patience and expert Pl. I can't express my thanks to the bank enough. After being retired for 25yrs I will never forget my working days with the co-operative bank. Keep up the good work for my grandchildren.

Atrocious service! Woefully understaffed to manage customer calls - the recorded message states that they are experiencing exceptionally high call levels but have cut the business hours in which to deal with customer queries. They do not offer an alternative form of contact such as an online chat facility or email address to facilitate ease of communication for customers with disabilities (I am partially deaf so struggle to hear on the telephone). They offer free business banking to new businesses - but I have just been sent a bill for charges on my account despite being a new business customer. I am at a loss as to how this bank can meet my business banking needs - perhaps I should just close my account as that might actually gain a response from the bank...if they even noticed that I had left!!

I ordered a new pin for my wife's debit Card about 4 weeks ago. This was a stressful experience because of the excessive wait time to be answered (just over 1 hr). I was told that the pins would be sent in the mail within 5 working days. After 6 days with no sign of the new PIN number, I telephoned the bank again. After another wait of 50 minutes, I was answered and told that the pin would be re-sent, but in case the post was not getting through to me, could she have an alternative address! I politely told her that this was nonsense and asked for the pin to be emailed to me. I was told that a third party issued the pin and so it would not be possible. After another week the pin had not arrived, so I telephoned again and waited 40 minutes to be answered. I was told that all the pins had definitely been sent and that the agent, Callum, could do nothing other than send the pin again, which he did. When asked about the third party company sending the pin, Callum assured me that the pins were dealt with in-house. I asked for a manager to phone me, and the next day Jenny, a manager, did phone. She again could not help me but said that she would re-send the pin, so that with two pins being sent it was likely to arrive. Six days later neither pin had arrived. Another 45 minute wait and I was put through to a female agent, who told me that she needed to speak to someone about the issue. 10 minutes later I was cut off. I phoned back and after a further 40 minute wait, spoke to Dan, who again could not help, but put me through to Steven, the Team Leader of Customer Services. His only solution was that he would look into the problem and get back to me in a week! Steven told me that the pins were handled by a third party company.

What a shower! After over 50 years with the Coop Bank I am being forced to move to a bank that will be more caring in regard to its customers. How on earth can a bank be run by such inappropriate people?

Been with this bank 14 years, I opened 2 extra savings accounts for my children and now there closing my account for fraud. I am disgusted, my account is always in credit and only used for direct debits, I got confirmation of 1st additional account being opened, the next day could not log in to my account, rang them all the person on the phone could tell me is that it was due to fraud. Fraud for opening a savings account? Is this a joke! I will be in the bank on my return to the UK this is an absolute disgrace

This should be zero stars but one star is the lowest I can give. Non-existent customer service, and their online banking and apps are totally unfit for purpose. If you like high blood pressure and banging your head against a brick wall for hours, then open a bank account with Co-Op. Otherwise avoid at all costs.
