Where do I start? As a young business owner, insurance seemed like such a terrifying idea to me until I spoke to Clare. If you’re looking into insuring your business, don’t even consider anywhere else. She took me through each step and made sure I fully understood everything before moving on. She made the process so much easier and was so supportive throughout. There aren’t enough words to use to express how appreciative I am of her and her help, a real credit to the company. If you’re considering insurance, look no further than insurance octopus!!!

I was using Insurance Octopus for a couple of years, but will no longer do so. Made no real effort to secure me a new insurance deal when my previous cover was due to expire and was no longer available. After calls that went nowhere, it got to the day my cover had expired. I was told my matter wasn't "that urgent" and someone will get back to me "soon". By 4.45pm I'm still waiting for them to contact me. I run a licensed premises, open at 6pm, and didn't fancy having my bar open without insurance. Kinda illegal y'know.
I gave up and called Premierline and they had me fully covered at a good price within one hour. Insurance Octopus strung me along for weeks. Will not recommend them to any fellow business owners.

Attempted several times to cancel a public liability policy, not a single acknowledged email nobody answering the phone for weeks. Went ahead and renewed the policy anyway despite clear instructions to cancel.

I see three months after my review there has been a reply. No way I am going to waste any more of my time dealing with this firm to explain what went wrong.

If I call, are you going to compensate me for all wasted time trying to sort this out? Didn't think so. Avoid like the plague.

Simon organised our licensed catering insurance quickly and efficiently. After a few attempts with other companies, and their failure to understand the non standard type of insurance we required, I tried Insurance Octopus and not only did Simon know exactly what our business needed, he also secured a great quote. When recently renewing my hotel insurance - I was quoted £4,800 and I was shocked, so went online and fount it - at the first place I tried - for £1,400 - for EXACTLY the same insurance.
So much for being a Leading Insurance Broker when CLEARLY they are NOT in business for me but for the insurance companies who rip people off with these OUTRAGEOUS demands.
Absolutely shocking and with a Blog read by millions, I will be sharing this with everyone.

As treasurer of local church youth project, we are on a tight budget. This company annually sources the best insurance for us at a very competitive price. Having a dedicated person serving our needs is excellent. Always a point of contact at the end of the phone who knows exactly our requirements etc. with no automated choice options, infernal music and no waiting. Highly recommend the Insurance Octopus.

Beware! This outfit attempt to obtain their new business by trickery, which would indicate that their ethics are at the bottom of the pit.
We are a small business working hard to service our customers. Unlike Octopus, all of our details, including our principle’s full name and e-mail address, are on our website. We have nothing to hide. Out of the blue she received an e-mail reminding her that she had “recently” spoken to the sender and “agreed” to talk to him at a specific time and date. This was a complete lie. She deals with customers and production and NEVER takes cold calls or handles insurance. She would have passed this call to me and didn’t because there never was call! Sure enough, at the time he mentioned in the e-mail, he called from a "withheld" number and asked for my partner by her first name, saying that she had asked him to call her. As I answered the call, I politely (at first) told him we had seen through his company’s scam and didn’t want to talk to him and would never consider doing business with them. He persisted to try and hard sell and I then told him in no uncertain terms to place his insurance where the sun doesn’t shine and terminated the call.
Later that day, someone from this company placed adverse feedback on our Google entry. That feedback contained a number of untruths. This act of revenge for being found out in their deception was pathetic, childish and the act of a bunch scoundrels.
If this is how they gain their business, God knows how they do their business.
They are nothing short of spivs!

I was telephoned by Insurance Octopus after completing my business requirements online. They knew my requirements of which one was to include IR35 liability cover for £100K. They confirmed this cover was included. After payment went through and the policy wording provided, it was clear that they had provided cover for IR35 investigations only. When questioned, Octopus agreed and said the IR35 liability cover could be added. Octopus then said they did not cover IR35 liability and I requested a full refund. A refund was provided, but Octopus would not refund the admin fee of £40, even though it was their mistake. I am now taking them to the financial ombudsman. Their customer service is terrible. Do not believe a word they say, they do not know what they are doing. Saying they cover certain items, when they clearly do not. Keep away if you don't want to be miss sold.
