Met in here as it’s halfway between two distant towns where we all live. Booked on the strength of the reviews. Service good. Shame the food didn’t match up. Two roast beef dishes ordered. Veg was bland. Gravy ‘claggy’. Yorkshire puds ‘fatty’. Meat overdone. Lamb shanks well cooked but the accompanying gravy was too thick. Ditto re the veg - bland. Puddings were the saving grace of the meal.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Wheatsheaf when we went for Sunday lunch. We were seen to promptly and politely and our main course was served in good time.

The portions were good and everything was well cooked. After the main course we all felt well fed, but there's always room for a dessert! We did have to prompt a server to take our order, but things had got a bit busier at that point, so it wasn't really an issue.

Overall, the food was great, with the service and level of attentiveness being about right. Would I come back to The Wheatsheaf? Absolutely!

The Wheatsheaf is a fantastic hidden gem. All three of us had the spare ribs for lunch today. They were absolutely delicious and a huge portion. Best ribs around. The staff were fantastic too.

The Wheatsheaf is a hidden gem! Their Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. We followed up with a delightful dessert to round out the perfect meal. We took part in a 5-mile hike around the lovely countryside that surrounds Langham afterwards to walk it all off!

If you're looking for a fantastic Sunday Lunch, I highly recommend giving The Wheatsheaf a try. You won't be disappointed!

The beer selection and quality on the day we visited (real ales) were OK to good, middle rating there, but I wasn't there for a session, so that didn't detract. The seating layout is not as cosy as it could be, but the staff were very accommodating when we called in for a beer after the walk, allowing us to sit in the dining area.

All round highly recommended

Second visit here and I am pleased that we have this place locally. Amazing food selection, including a decent separate vegetarian/vegan menu. Service was spot on both times, once being a busy Christmas service.

Could really do with a milk alternative for coffees would be my suggestion for improvement.
