If I could rate Unity Trust Bank 0 stars I would. Worst bank in history. I mean who even rates this bank? Waiting time is like 30 minutes. I advise the public to never register with this bank. If you want your money scammed by these people then go ahead. Their system is so bad that it’s easy for fraudsters to get into your account. RUN and turn your back on this western union type bank!!!

Exceptional service from the Unity Trust Bank. As a current signatory of our Organisations bank account, I had to contact their customer services. Wow, I wanted to increase my permissions, and the response was speedy. Having completed a number of security checks and sending a countersignature agreement, the account was updated. All in one day, polite, professional and efficient service, well done Customer Service department.

These are a great bank with links to the trade union movement. They also provide an exceptional service. Their systems are straightforward and a person tends to answer the phone after a couple of rings if I ever have any need for help - no long hold times and a simple security interface. We need to see more of this in our world. 100% recommend.

Good service for the first year we were with Unity. Then it fell off a cliff. Now we have regular 40 minute wait times on the phone and sometimes the out-of-office answerphone is still on well into opening hours. Replies to questions and complaints by email tell us to call them on the phone! I would advise anyone considering signing up with Unity to wait until they've got their act together, as communications at the moment are as bad or worse than other banks. On the plus side, if you can ever get through to anyone, they can usually help and the online banking works pretty well. Would I switch banks because of the difficulty with communications? If it continues like this then yes, I'd have to.

Unity Trust is more ethical than many banks and has a very useful dual-control online banking platform.

However, trying to update just the phone number of the main contact proved a nightmare with two separate advisors giving incomplete information resulting in abortive attempts and wasted time (ours and theirs).

I would only add that most banks are probably equally weak in money laundering prevention processes and that is mostly due to poor legislative clarity and consequent ambiguous training.

The last advisor was patient and kind and has, hopefully, advised us of the correct official process, which we have followed, including using Unity Trust's printed guidance on ID.
