A very quaint, neat and tidy little station. If you are looking to get to Middlesbrough or Manchester via train, then this is for you. If however you are looking for ferries to Rotterdam I'd give it a miss.

Station has parking facilities for about 80 cars and a nice supermarket just 5 minutes walk away.

Parking costs just ÂŖ1.50 for the whole day Monday to Saturday at the moment. Also there is a bus stop in the station car park for easy interconnecting journeys to and from the station.

It's a small station, recently improved with the addition of a ticket machine. Parking is currently free which is a big plus, I hope it stays that way. There are no snack machines or waiting rooms, but there is a shelter where you can sit on cold metal seats to avoid the rain.

Unstaffed with partially open waiting shelters on both platforms, to which ramp access is provided. Trains only once an hour at best, and as all are provided by TransPennine Express the range of destinations is somewhat limited. Not ideal for those commuting into Middlesbrough, although at least it makes getting to Manchester Airport relatively easy and the modest car park is free to use. At time of writing, the platforms are also being lengthened, so it may be that in future the option of travelling to London on a Grand Central service will be available.

Yarm station has two platforms, but be aware, the car park is a long walk from platform one, so don't leave it until late, or else the train will have gone!!

Lovely, charming, busy town. Great main Street, not much parking though. Lovely huge park.

Unmanned but well kept station (for example its gritted in winter). Car park can be full by 9am during the weekday.
