Had to make a claim after my bike got stolen. The whole process was very smooth, and the person assisting me, Connor, was very helpful and patient while I collected all the documents needed, which was especially lengthy as I had to deal with the cycle to work scheme as well. They also advise on upgrading my locks, and got a couple of extra very good suggestions. I will definitely insure my new bike with them, though I really hope I won't ever need their help again 🙂

Can't recommend Yellow Jersey enough. After my lovely gravel bike was stolen (busy area, cameras, over lunchtime) they couldn't have been more helpful or efficient. Looking forward to getting back on the replacement bike this weekend!

After 3 years with YJ, I have to make my first claim, this is still ongoing, but my experience so far is very negative.
1. Everything takes two working days.
2. Lack of communication and explanation. I was contacted by a random person claiming they work on behalf of YL and asking me for a lot of personal information.
3. Difficult to contact, no one is answering or the line is temporarily closed.
4. The valuation of the bike is outrageous, all upgrades have not been taken into account, but the company is demanding me to send them all upgraded and OEM parts back, why?
5. Replacement bike is not fit for purpose. The gravel bike I used was used for bike packing, the replacement bike doesn't have half of the mounts, for example not supporting the pannier rack. The geometry of the bike is completely different.

I would not recommend these crooks.

Update following response from the YJ.
I understand that I made a mistake and not updated the bike value following replacing old broken/used parts with the new/upgraded ones. However, I'm not sure why you asked me to ship back even the old replaced parts.
Next one, as it was unable to confirm the details of the 3rd party involved in the accident, the payment has to go from your YJ account, therefore I received such a strong response related to the value of the bike and need to send it back all the parts as you need to reclaim every penny. Lastly, I still disagree that your payment back was based on the canyon crash replacement scheme that is only open to individual users and not to the companies like yourself, the payment should be based on the market value to fix the bike to the state it was before the accident. I'm happy to share all the correspondence as proof.
