My girlfriend and I stayed here after booking the date night package. We were pleasantly surprised about how great this hotel was. The room was spacious and private. The meals were spot on, and we were even lucky enough to have booked on the night of their relaunch party and had a brilliant night of entertainment in their function room. All the staff and management were very welcoming, and it shows that they have a good team working here who are all committed and enjoy what they do. We travelled from North Yorkshire and had an amazing Lancashire getaway. Highly recommended.

Came through secret escapes for a night away, breakfast, and gin distillery workshop and from the moment we arrived we couldn’t fault it. The rooms were beautiful (bathrooms could maybe use a refurb in a year or two but perfectly acceptable). We had our gin workshop experience with Blake who went above and beyond and we honestly couldn’t fault a single aspect. My partner, although liking flavoured gin, struggled as she didn’t enjoy the dry gins and Blake went and made her a cocktail instead which was so lovely and completely made her evening. Alison at the bar again went above and beyond and made our dinner experience. We felt like have personal service the whole time and nothing was too much to ask.

We had a brilliant time at the whitehall hotel.|Upon arrival we were told we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite, we were delighted.|When we got to the room, there were a few chips on the window frames, window sill and skirting.|The shower wasn't very powerful and the cold tap in the sink ran warm.|This did not effect our stay at all, this was our first break away from our 6 year old so we were looking forward to a nice relaxing stay and some good food.|The room was very spacious and the bed was sooo comfy.|We were mainly served by Natalie, and the service was 5* she was so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and she really knew her stuff (she deserves a pay rise 😊) |The food was 5* and we enjoyed every meal.|This was a suprise for my partner for his birthday and for me to get away for a few days as I have been very ill over the last 12 months, this stay was incredible and we will 100% be returning. (we even had a visit from a deer).

We came for the gin experience which was fabulous, Blake definitely knew his stuff and the gin I made is lovely ☺️. We booked a meal in the restaurant and the food was lovely and the service was great. The room looked recently refurbished and was clean and well presented. I had a fabulous nights sleep in a very comfy bed and breakfast was lovely. Special mention to Lottie who looked after us throughout our stay and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend the who Gin Experience.

We had a Mother's Day lunch, it was very nice. Good atmosphere, very polite and friendly staff. The food was excellent and very well presented. Service was a touch slow but they were quite busy. Good value.

We had read a number of negative reviews before we went, we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised by our lovely experience. What really stands out is the staff. They can't do enough for you, they work incredibly hard and they are all really warm and friendly. From Lottie on reception (and also serving behind the bar), to Natalie serving drinks to the brilliant Blake in the distillery - they all deserve recognition. ||Some areas of the hotel are being renovated, so it is only going to get better. The room we were in is not yet renovated, but the bed was new and comfy and we had no complaints. The bar area is comfortable, with plenty of seating.||The gin masterclass was such a fantastic experience. We will be recommending it to others and will come back again ourselves. Blake really knows his stuff, and we were quite pleased with the gin we created, although we have already thought about how we would modify it next time! We also loved the food platter, which was a perfect dinner substitute having had a latish lunch. The Whitehall gins are all really good too - one of which recently won an award.||Breakfast was buffet style but plentiful and tasty.||We will be back.

Excellent experience at the Whitehall hotel in darwen, staff very welcoming and friendly service from Lottie. Blake done a great job at demonstrating and telling us about the history of gin and the different botanicals. This made the gin experience very interesting while giving us the experience of making our own gin, choosing the from the different botanicals. The hotel has recently been refurbished which shows in the excellent decor, comfortable bed and good quality standard room. Evening meal was very enjoyable thank you chef, with a good choice on the menu, gluten free was catered for.
