I had a vanquis credit card, and they upped and upped the amount I could borrow. I was then caught in a marriage breakdown, which left me with a breakdown and mental health issues. I contacted all creditors and made payment plans with all. It's all over now with the divorce etc so I called them today seeing that I had overpaid by £20.00 and when was the new card arriving. I was told "we closed the account!" So I asked them why? Also when are you giving me back my money that you owe me? I was told that I'd have to take that up with my bank! I think they closed it because they are being investigated by companies for over charges in interest rates. A company told me I could claim even though I said "No" Vanquis sent me a letter saying that if I did that they would not let me have a card. So there you have it. They increase the amounts to ridiculous levels and now I am going to find a company that will look into it for me. Stay clear of them is my advise. Huge interest rates and bullies. Holding my money as I am in credit. Quick to ask for it, but slow to return it. Awful to contact too.

Well 30th September i requested a close of my credit card but was in credit so asked to have my credit paid back to my bank account, well today 20th nov still told my refund is in a back log. This company is a disgrace. With holding my money owed back to me its nearly Christmas and as a husband and dad money tight this time of year. Yet customer services just say sorry its in a back log just give my money.

Had left their minimum payment to pay off the card. And they've charged every single month a purchase fee. So never actually got any closer to paying off like I thought. Started asking me questions about my deceased step dad when I tried to get help. So unprofessional and unpleasant. Every time I have tried to resolve a problem I get a snarkier worse assistent.

Absolute scammers, I have no history with them, did not know they existed until they tried to take >£1200 from me. Somehow they setup a DD on my account with another bank. I phoned them and they took details from me but refused to offer any assistance, they could not pass me to a fraud team, they would not confirm if the person at Vanquis who set up the DD actually worked there. Avoid at all costs!!!

Corporate thieves! Literally! Avoid at all cost! They have gone rogue! Imagine charging £42 purchase interest on a purchase that was paid for before payment due date. I called customer service many times (by the way their customer service is outsourced to South Africa), they always keep me on hold to find out why I was charged interest but always comes back with explanations that doesn't make sense! Their customer service in South Africa doesn't even know what they are doing. They said they charged me because I still had balance on the account. But the balance was a balance transfer which was still on interest free promotional period. Meanwhile they had charged 3.99% on the balance transfer some 7 months prior. Then next I made the same purchase transaction I made initially via PayPal that led to the purchase interest and this time it was deemed as cash transaction and I was charged a total of £26 cash advance. Then I cleared my balance to zero. They still went further to charge me additional cash interest of £3.19 on a balance that is zero. I am not only returning the card and closing the account, I will report them to Financial Obudsman and the FCA! I will also give them same feedback across all platforms. Nonsense! I might even make a YouTube video to expose them!

Absolute garbage company! They take money before the date of payment from my account and keep doing it as well. This was never mentioned to me this was a way of what they do with a direct debit but this left me to go into an overdraft with my bank account! Your staff are very rude and unprofessional. Your complaints team do not know how to deal with customers and their complaints. They know they have done wrong but never accept full liability. Worst credit card bank I have been with. Caused me alot of stress and anxiety.

I have had an account for over 2 years with no issues, however recently I logged onto the app and saw that the direct debit that i had set to 0 had been changed. I changed this back, as i prefer to send money manually due to my personal payment schedules. I was told this money would definitely not be taken. It was taken. I was then locked out of my account, could not even open the app due to issues ‘with my direct debit’. The same direct debit they had taken the money. After some frustrating hours on the phone, in which at one point i was incorrectly told money had been transferred to a bank account from my credit card (which was of course very alarming as I had not done this), I was told I need to send bank statements in with my direct debit details. this all seemed suspicious so I called my main bank. They said that is abnormal but to call them directly, not using links to confirm. They reversed the direct debit that was taken without my permission, and cancelled all future direct debits. I sent screenshots of my bank statements, and received a text from a random number saying to call another random number to speak to security about a document I had sent. I called and apparently a screenshot isn’t suitable, and they need a whole pdf statement? I cannot stress how stressful and frustrating my interactions have been with customer service staff. I shall pay off my outstanding balance and will no longer use this bank in the future. They feel neither trustworthy nor professional anymore to me.
NOTE: I have also posted this review on Trustpilot, but this whole experience has made me want to ensure as many people are warned.

Avoid this bank. Read the trustpilot reviews as well as mine they have 95% negative reviews on there, I have savings with them, and I gave them the 60-day notice they wanted before I made a withdrawal, but my money didn't arrive into my bank account on the day it should of, still trying after 2 days, seems they want to hold onto it for as long as possible.
